Chilean band coming to San Diego

A popular Chilean band will be bringing their special artistry to San Diego soon.

Gondwana will be at the Music Box in the Little Italy neighborhood, along with DJ Richie and E.N Young. The event is still set to go ahead at the time of writing, but it is worth checking nearer the time.

The group was founded by I-Locks Labbé in 1987 in Santiago, Chile, where they had their first success. The band has steadily been gaining popularity, playing festivals, and appearing throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Among their appearances, the band has performed at Pepsi Music in Buenos Aires, Reggae on the River in California, and many others. The band is also active in digital and social media, with fans accessing their YouTube work more than 40 million times; their webpage averages 30,000 hits monthly.

A review of a Gondwana concert said:

“Gondwana ROCKED THE HOUSE. The concert was great, they played 1.5 hours and never stopped.”

Also on the bill is E.N Young, a native of San Diego who has been playing the piano since he was six, grew up surrounded by reggae, and made a name for himself playing with bands in the genre. He opened his own recording studio in Imperial Beach in 2013.

All being well, Gondwana will be at the Music Box on April 11 at 9:00 am, with the doors opening at 8:00 pm. The Music Box is a standing-only venue, and is limited to those over 21. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts to advertise this type of event.
