Blues band coming to San Diego - from Iceland

An Icelandic band that is making a name for itself is coming to San Diego.

Kaleo (who prefer KALEO) was founded in 2012, and have released three albums: 2013’s “Kaleo,” “A/B” in 2016, and “Surface Sounds” in 2021. They also released an EP, “Glasshouse,” in 2013. “A/B” was a huge success, selling more than one million albums throughout the world. The song “Way Down We Go” off the album was certified 2x Platinum in the U.S., and climbed to the top of the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart. KALEO was nominated for a Grammy in 2017 for Best Rock Performance for “No Good,” a single.

KALEO got their start when they appeared at the 2012 Iceland Airwaves music festival. They came to national attention with their cover of "Vor í Vaglaskógi,” which received a lot of airplay, and was used in the television series “Trapped.” Sena, Iceland’s main label, signed them and they released their first album on that label.

After that, they became more widely known and were signed by Atlantic Records and moved to Austin, Texas, now their base.

A review says:

“A talented group of musicians who sounded just as good live as their recorded versions. Set was lively and a great mixture of soulful blues coupled with faster paced grittier rock tunes.”

KALEO will be at Petco Park in San Diego on June 19. When shows like this are organized, promoters will often contact a printer that works with poster printing to create suitable advertising.
