Marc E. Bassy (real name Marc Griffin) was formerly the vocalist of 2AM Club, a pop band based in Los Angeles. As a solo artist, he released the mixtape “Only the Poets” in 2014, “East Hollywood” in 2015, and in 2016 dropped the EP “Groovy People,” which included “You & Me,” a single featuring G-Easy.
He was with Republic Records when he released “Gossip Columns” in 2017, but decided to go out on his own, though he did tour with Rex Life Raj in 2018 in support of this album. He formed his own label, New Gold Medal Records, and released two full-length projects – “Little Men” in 2021, and “PMD” in 2019. He most recent album is 2022’s “Man Makes Plans.” Before he started his own career, he wrote songs for other artists like Wiz Khalifa and CeeLo Green.
Griffin is a native of the Bay Area, and attended UC Santa Cruz, where he studied music for two years before leaving for Los Angeles and founding 2AM Club. A concert review says:
“Marc was AMAZINGGG . . . I’ve been to a lot of concerts and sometimes get worried bc they’re not always as good as their recording, but if anything he was even BETTER live.”
Marc E. Bassy will be at the Music Box on Thursday, March 14. Organizers of this type of event will frequently work with poster printing shops to create suitable advertising.
