The time has never been better for people who want to provide a forever home for a pet to start adoption procedures, thanks to Todd Gloria, a member of the State Assembly, who is partnering with the San Diego Human Society in an effort called #Gloria100.
For four days, the Human Society is waiving adoption fees if the animal being adopted is an adult. The waiver applies to the first 100 pets adopted from any of the society’s locations in San Diego, hence the #Gloria 100 hashtag, according to an article on the KUSI website.
The Humane Society, as well as Assembly member Gloria, will tweet the progress of the adoption campaign over the designated period, and interested parties are encouraged to follow the adoption count using the special hashtag #Gloria100.
When discussing the campaign, Gloria said San Diego is a great place for people to live, but it’s also a great place for animals, calling it a ‘proud pet-friendly town’. He also noted that, unfortunately, there are many animals in and around San Diego that need homes. This is why he has teamed up with the Humane Society, and says he is confident they will be able to reach their goal.
The Gloria 100 campaign begins July 5 and runs through July 8. Efforts like this need maximum publicity, so organizers might work with a poster printing company to create Posters to display throughout the city.
