A band formed by childhood friends has started selling out tours, and they are now on the way to San Diego.
Old Mervs comprises Henry Carrington-Jones and David House, who have known each other since childhood. They began performing in 2017 and in 2018, decided to call their duo Old Mervs, after Mervin, a pet dog.
Henry and David grew up in Kojonup, a small farming town three hours from Perth in Western Australia. They began rehearsing in an old shed on a farm but have moved on from their simple origins.
The year 2025 has been a good one for the duo, whose initial album release, 2025’s “Old Mervs,“ made it to No. 4 on the Australian charts and No. 1 on the ARIA charts. Hits from the album included “Don’t Go,” “Everyone Will See It,” “Forget It,” “What You’ve Lost,” and “Parched.” The album’s success comes on the heels of sold-out tours across Europe, the UK, the United States, and Australia. Stops on the tours included Lollapalooza in the United States, where they appeared along with stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Tyler the Creator.
This year, 2026, promises to be even more successful. They have already developed new music, and have tours lined up, including the stop in San Diego.
Old Mervs will be at the Music Box on May 28. Organizers that schedule performances like this can help support them by using poster printing to create advertising to bring in audiences.
