A Dutch musician known for his unusual stylings is coming to San Diego.
Thomas Helsloot, who goes simply by Helsloot, has a unique approach to disco and techno music, as he uses futuristic, melodic, and hip-hop constructs in his work. Labels such as Ritter Butzke and Domino Records have signed him.
He first came to notice with the wildly successful track “Because You Move Me,” which he worked on with Tinlicker, a Dutch electronic group. The song was streamed more than one billion times on all platforms, helping Helsloot get established as one of the visionaries in his genre.
Helsloot released “Never Tried,” his debut album, in 2024, which included the hit tracks “Let’s Pretend” and “Take Care.” He followed this effort with “Body Language Vol. 27,” which was released on the Get Physical label.
The album release is one of the prompts for the upcoming North American tour, which is the first time Helsloot will appear in the United States and Canada. Another impetus for the road trip is his ongoing collaborations, most recently “I Was There,” a single he performed with Beacon, which Booka Shade reworked in April 2026. He is also eager to share original material with audiences, and he is projected to drop a new single next month.
Helsloot will be at the Quartyard on Saturday, June 6. Organizers of this type of event can use poster printing to promote it.
