For the third year, San Diego will celebrate its entrepreneurs, innovators, venture capitalists, and startups in a week-long event.
San Diego Startup Week, a festival celebrating innovation, begins with an event on Broadway Pier and continues at various venues throughout the downtown area.
Melani Gordon, who founded Startup Week and is CEO of TapHunter, says the event is a showcase that enables people to see how exciting San Diego's start-up community is, and how it operates. People who are launching start-ups receive exposure and connect with others.
This year's event is broken into four tracks, so entrepreneurs at different stages of development can find the information they need. The ‘Idea Track’ focuses on general information about start-ups, and gives people an opportunity to network. The ‘Development Track’ helps entrepreneurs identify resources that can help them build their brand. The ‘Seed Track’ helps them finish their product and prepare to find seed money, and the final ‘Scale Track’ focuses on helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
In addition to these events, there are social gatherings all week, from dinners to meetups, to give people a chance to network.
Startup Week begins June 14th, a Sunday, and continues through to the 20th. Passes can be purchased online and cost $50, while the fee for students is $20.
