Singer/songwriter not Sour on San Diego

A singer/songwriter who has already found fame as an actress will appear in San Diego soon.

Olivia Rodrigo is bringing her Sour Tour to America’s Finest City, where she will perform at the Rady Shell, located in Jacobs Park. Rodrigo was born in Murrieta and grew up in Temecula, began taking vocal lessons when she was still in kindergarten, and learned how to play the piano shortly after that. When she was six, she started taking singing and acting classes, and began acting in school productions, and by the time she was 12, she was playing guitar.

Her interest in music was spurred by her parents’ love of bands like Green Day and Pearl Jam, and she began considering songwriting after listening to country music, especially the work of Taylor Swift. After she was cast in “Bizaardvark,” she moved to Los Angeles.

“Bizaardvark” was broadcast on the Disney Channel, and Rodrigo followed that effort with another show, this time on Disney+: “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” She also broke into the mainstream recording industry with her 2021 hit “Driver’s License.”

“ . . . Olivia’s portion of the show: absolutely amazing. I don’t think I will ever go to a concert that good again. Highly recommend going to see Olivia if you ever have the chance!”

Rodrigo will appear at the Rady Shell on May 18 at 7.30 pm. When events like this are scheduled, organizers can use poster printing to advertise the show.
