Laura Pergolizzi is known simply as “LP,” and has achieved a great deal in a career that only started in 2001. Although her first two albums were not successful, her appearance at the South by Southwest music conference in 2006 made her the object of a bidding war among major labels. She finally signed with the Island Def Jam Music Group, which is part of the Universal Music Group. Although she left Island the next year, one of the songs she wrote while she was there, “Love Will Keep You Up All Night,” was featured on the album “Unbreakable,” released by the Back Street Boys.
One of her biggest breakthroughs came when she co-wrote “Cheers (Drink to That)” with Rihanna, which was released on “Loud,” the fifth studio album Rihanna dropped. Other major accomplishments as a songwriter came with her song “Beautiful People,” which she co-wrote, and which was performed by Christina Aguilera. Her songs have been heard on television shows and in films.
A review of LP in concert says:
“The incomparable LP! No one can craft a song, lyric, or performance like, LP! She is one-of-a-kind, with extraordinary raw talent. I am obsessed with her talent and personality! Thank you, LP!”
LP will be at SOMA on September 10, at 8.00 pm. Poster printing can be used to create edgy advertising for events like this.
