Nostalgia event for 1970s San Diego

A tribute band for one of rock’s iconic acts is on the way to San Diego.

Bee Gees Gold is a tribute band to one of the legends of the 1970s, the Bee Gees. The original band comprised Robin, Barry and Maurice - the three Gibb brothers. Born in the UK, they relocated to Australia, then returned to the UK. Back in 1967, Robert Stigwood, a producer, introduce them to a global audience, and in 1977, they released the soundtrack to “Saturday Night Fever,” which cemented their status as superstars.

With John Acosta as Barry, Jeff Celentano as Maurice, and Daryll Borges as Robin, Bee Gees Gold recreate the look and sound of the original group. The tribute band plays the greatest hits of the original including “I Started a Joke” and “Massachusetts.” Of course, they also include hits from the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack, including “You Should be Dancing” and the iconic “Stayin’ Alive,” which should get the audience up on its feet to try their disco dancing skills.

“We attended the Bee Gees Gold Tribute Performance . . . What a show.... They sounded just like the original group. Me and my Wife dated, danced, and enjoyed the sound of the Bee Gees. Wow did it bring back memories.”

Bee Gees Gold will perform at the Balboa Theatre on April 15, where organizers can use poster printing to create stylish advertising for the event.
