David Cross and Shane Torres are coming to the Music Box. Cross is a writer, director, stand-up comic, and actor who works on stage and screen He appeared in the shows “Mr. Show with Bob and David” on HBO, and “Arrested Development.” Critics have called him:
“. . . one of the defining figures of cult Gen X comedy.”
He has done voiceover work as well, portraying Ian Hawke in three “Alvin and the Chipmunks” films, and leading voice work in the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1993 for “Outstanding Wring for a Varity Series” for his work with “The Ben Stiller Show.”
Shane Torres has been making a name for himself in television, where he has thus far appeared on “Red Nose Day” on NBC; “Last Comic Standing,” also on NBC; “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and others.
He is the co-host of “No Accounting for Taste,” a hugely successful podcast, and guests on other podcasts. Of Torres, the New York Times writes:
“Mr. Torres has a laconic drawling delivery with deliberate pacing, placing him firmly in the tradition of dry deadpan specialists . . . ”
David Cross and Shane Torres will be at the Music Box in San Diego on January 9. Admission is limited to those 21 years of age and older. Organizers often use Posters, which they may obtain from Print shops, to advertise events like this.
