Multi-talented rapper to appear in San Diego

An actor, writer, improv comedian, and rapper is coming to San Diego with The Cybertronic Spree.

Chris Ward, better known as MC Chris is an Illinois native who attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, as well as the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked as a production assistant on the television show “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” and also played the character MC Pee Pants in four episodes, also appearing as young Carl in a fifth. He also wrote for the show “Sealab 2021,” and played Hesh Hepplewhite, a recurring character, in that series. He left the Cartoon Network in 2004 to concentrate on recording.

In this part of his career, he has become associated with a genre known as nerdcore hip-hop. The term refers to artists who use the hip-hop format to rap about subjects often associated with nerd culture, such as science fiction and fantasy. MC Chris is noted for his high-pitched voice, and the Cybertronic Spree is a perfect example of nerdcore, as the group dresses as the characters from the Transformers.

A review says:

“Getting to see MC Chris in concert was awesome! He did a great job and kept the crowd pumped up and going.”

The Cybertronic Spree with MC Chris is set for December 14 at 8:00 pm, at Brick by Brick on Buenos Avenue. Flyer printing is often used to create handouts announcing performances like this.
