Mexican singer/actor coming to San Diego
A talented artist who has made a name for himself as both a singer and actor is on the way to San Diego.
Carlos Rivera Guerra, who goes by the stage name Carlos Rivera, got his start when he won the third season of the Mexican television competition show “La Academia.” The show houses between 14 and 49 contestants together while they take classes in acting, dancing, and singing. Every Sunday the contestants give a concert which is broadcast as well as having a live audience, and each week, one person is eliminated. The final contestants compete head-to-head for the final prize.
His win on the show made him a hero in his hometown of Huamantla, where the City Council dubbed him “Huamantla's Favorite Son." He has gone on to enjoy success on stage in six theatrical productions, including “The Lion King” and “Mamma Mia!”
He now has eight studio albums to his credit, with the latest, “Leyendas Vol. 1” dropping in 2021. At the Premios Antena awards gala, Rivera received the Artistic Merit Award from the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto.
