Hip-hop star to play San Diego

A rapidly-rising star in hip-hop will be in San Diego for an arena show.

Russ Vitale, who goes simply by his first name, is a New Jersey who grew up in Atlanta. He started his career when he was seven, writing original raps in his notebook. He began producing when he was in his teens, finally getting to present his own material when he was 18. He fell in love with performing as well as creating raps, and from 2011 to 2014, he released 11 albums.

He made them all available on SoundCloud, which brought him to the attention of Columbia Records. He signed with them in 2017 and dropped his debut album “There’s Really a Wolf” on his new label. The effort went to the #7 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, and to #3 on both the U.S. R&B and Rap charts.

Russ writes, engineers, mixes, and produces all his music, and when he steps on the stage, all his artistry is on display. He can pack arenas, unusual for a solo act. A review says:

“I like music by Russ, but I was not a serious fan. However his performance just made me like his music 100% more. He’s amazing in concert.”

Russ will be at San Diego State University, at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, on May 4 at 8.00 pm, where poster printing can be used to create edge advertisements for events like this.
