Country artist to appear in San Diego

A Nashville singer-songwriter is on the way to San Diego to share his love of country music.

Kip Christian Moore has been sharing his talent since 2008, when he started his musical career. However, his route to the stage included a four-year stint as a retail manager for a national chain, during which time he wrote his own music. Eventually, he was signed by MCA Nashville and he began to see his songs appearing on US Country Charts.

His debut effort, “Mary Was the Marrying Kind,” reached #45, but his next effort, “Something ‘bout a Truck,” which he dropped in 2011, made it to the top of the chart. In 2012, he released “Up All Night,” his debut album, which rose to the third spot on the Country chart. In 2012, the American Country Awards nominated him for three honors: Video by a New Artist, Single by a New Artist, and New Artist of the Year. A review says:

“Kip is a superb performer. His stage presence is out of this world. He is so energetic . . . So honest and thankful to be doing what he loves. . . . he never disappoints.”

Moore sticks to traditional country subjects such as beer, girls, and trucks fairly closely, which has proven to be a winning strategy for the crowd-pleasing artist. He will be at San Diego’s Soma Mainstage on December 18 at 8:00 pm.
