Mandy Patinkin is a native of Chicago who attended the prestigious Julliard School, and started his Broadway career in 1975, when he starred in “Trelawny of the ‘Wells.’” The cast included John Lithgow and Meryl Streep. Other shows he appeared in include “Hamlet,” “The Shadow Box,” and “Evita,” for which he won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Che.
His first film role was a small part in a political comedy, “The Big Fix.” He has gone on to starring roles in other projects, but is probably best known for his portrayal of Inigo Montoya in the adventure comedy “The Princess Bride.”
Patinkin has had leading roles on several television series, including “Criminal Minds,” “Homeland,” and “Chicago Hope,” for which he won the Primetime Emmy as Outstanding Leading Actor in a Drama Series.
