When she was only four years old, Beth Hart, a native of Los Angeles, began taking piano lessons. She played classics, then went on to include works by Etta James and Led Zeppelin, among other names.
Hart entered the Los Angeles’ High School for the Performing Arts in 10th grade, where she began studying vocals as well as the cello. One of Hart’s classmates encouraged her to sing at the Comedy Store’s Belly Room, which led to more performances in Hollywood venues. Only 15 at the time, Hart asked guitarist Jimmy Khoury and bassist Tal Herzberg for their help on 1993’s “Ocean of Souls.”
Hart’s breakthrough came in 1999, when her debut album, “Screamin’ for My Supper,” was released. The album included the single “LA Song (Out of This Town),” which climbed the charts in the US and hit #1 in New Zealand. It was featured in Episode 17 of the TV show Beverly Hills 90210. At the time, Hart was singing the role of Janis Joplin in “Love, Janis,” in an off-Broadway production. Her collaborations with guitar legend Joe Bonamassa have boosted her profile even higher.

“The solo performance was extra special it was like she came over [to] your house and sang in your living room.”
Beth Hart will be at the Balboa Theatre on February 3 at 7:30 pm. Using poster printing allows organizers of this type of event to create outstanding publicity for the evening.
