The multi-talented Ramy Youssef played Ramy Hassan on “Ramy,” a comedy series that ran on Hulu from 2019-2022. His work on the show won him a Golden Globe Award for the first season, and a nomination for the second year. Youssef also landed a Peabody Award, and two nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards.
Youssef is from Queens, New York City, and first appeared on “See Dad Run,” a sitcom appearing on Nick at Nite. In 2017, Youssef did a stand-up routine on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and two years later, “Ramy” made its debut on Hulu with a ten-episode run. The show is based on Youssef’s life, featuring a first-generation Muslim-American born in the United States to immigrant parents.
Youssef appeared in his first stand-up special on HBO, “Ramy Youssef: Feelings,” in 2019, and in 2023, made his major film debut in “Poor Things,” which received 11 Academy Award nominations. Youssef was on the road in 2023 with his “More Feelings” tour, and a review says:
“Ramy Youssef's comedy show is nothing short of phenomenal. He didn’t just tell jokes. He invited us into his world, navigating identity, faith, family, and awkward moments with such realness and humor.”
Youssef will be in San Diego on June 7, at the Balboa Theatre in the city’s downtown. Organizers can use poster printing to create attractive advertising for events like this.
