A fundraiser is on the schedule in Rohnert Park to help support the local high school.
This is the seventh year for the Rancho Cotate High School Crab Feed, which raises funds to support 24 of the school's athletic programs. Activities include a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and a live auction where bidders can win cakes. Live music and a no-host bar will be part of the event, which is limited to those age 21 and older.
The meal is the main attraction, and this one begins with a Caesar salad, made fresh, followed by pasta with either marinara or pesto sauce, and French bread, made locally. The main course is fresh Dungeness crab.
The high school offers extensive athletic activities, fielding boys' teams in wrestling, track and field, tennis, swimming, soccer, lacrosse, golf, football, cross country, basketball, and baseball. The girls' teams play the same sports, with the exceptions that they play softball rather than baseball, and volleyball instead of football. There is a co-ed cheerleading team as well.
The Crab Feed is January 25, from 5.00 pm until 10.30 pm, at the Main Hall of the Rohnert Park Community Center on Snyder Lane. The cocktail hour will start at 5.00 pm, and dinner will be served at 6.30 pm. Organizers ask that no beverages be brought in, and that no food be taken away after the event. Banner printing could be used to create suitable decorations for events like this.
