Rohnert Park welcomes Brett Young

Fans of what he calls his “Caliville” sound will be glad to hear that vocalist Brett Young is on the way to Rohnert Park.

Young has successfully blended the laid-back style of rock found in his home state of California with the traditional country sound of Nashville, and called it “Caliville.” Thus far, Young has released two albums, both of which he recorded in Nashville. His signature style is on display in hits like “Here Tonight,” “In Case You Didn't Know,” and “Mercy.” “Ticket to L.A.” is his most recent album.

Gavin DeGraw, a singer-songwriter, inspired Young to pursue a career in music when an injury derailed his plans to play major league baseball. As his career has taken off, Young and DeGraw have become friends, with DeGraw also acting as a mentor. He and Young co-wrote the song “Chapters,” and have appeared together on stage.

A review of one of Young's performances said he “worked his magic” on the crowd, which had sold out the venue. He performed his classics, as well as songs from the “Ticket to L.A.” album, and invited the audience to get up and dance to the music. Poster printing is often used when there are events like this taking place.

Young will appear at The Ballroom at Graton Resort in Rohnert Park on August 22. The concert begins at 9.00 pm.
