Rohnert Park gets fiscally responsible

The Rohnert Park Library is coming to help shine some light on the difficult subject of debt management with its latest seminar: Personal Finance - How to Manage Personal Debt, Credit, and Budgeting for Financial Health.

The presentation will be given by representatives from Redwood Credit Union. The credit union has been a member of the community since 1950, and brings an insider look on finances and a working knowledge of the best practices that have led their members to financial success.

The talk will begin with the subject of the relationship between debt and credit, tackling the issue that few people understand the relationship of the debt to income ratio and credit score. The seminar leaders will discuss this in depth along with surefire ways of controlling debt to increase credit. They will then go over some of the best tips for creating and sticking to a personal budget, including setting entertainment allowances, realistically calculating expenses, and adapting business Forms and software for personal use. After the presentation, the floor will be open to questions and answers.

Personal Finance will be held on May 31 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Rohnert Park - Cotati Regional Library, located at 6250 Lynne Conde Way. Attendance is free to the public. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
