Rohnert Park fundraiser supports women's empowerment

An event designed to support its mission of empowering women and girls across the globe will be seeking to raise funds.

With the aim of uniting people for cultural appreciation, community building and essential causes, this fundraiser is being held in honor of International Day of the Girl.

The attendees will have a chance to hear directly from women and girls whose lives have experienced transformation due to WomenServe’s initiatives. They will also get an opportunity to buy handcrafted products that are influenced by the work of Thar Artisan Collective, a group of artisans focusing on economic development in deprived regions centered around female empowerment. Vendors like to set up their booths with banner printing.

One of the key elements included during this evening will be a traditional dance from Rajasthan performed by Manpreet Komal of the Rang De Bollywood Dance Troupe. After that, an interactive lesson on how to perform some moves will be offered for free to all guests.

Funds raised through the Threads of Hope fundraiser are aimed at supporting WomenServe’s initiatives focusing on women/girl education, clean water provision, and the creation of economic opportunities in India. This means that revenue gained from ticket sales, donations and product purchases will be directed towards these programs thereby helping accomplish its mission to bring about sustainable change.

WomenServe is hosting its 5th Annual Fundraiser, Threads of Hope, on October 12th at Sally Tomatoes in Rohnert Park.
