Local public service groups and employees of the community of Rohnert Park and Cotaiti once again came together to get their 13th annual toy drive off to a festive start.
Santa himself was on hand at the celebration, which took place at the Cotati Fire Station. For many years, the Rancho Cotati Rotary Club and several other local organizations have come together to collect toys for disadvantaged families throughout the region and then make sure that they are delivered to those who are in need of a little extra “holiday cheer”.
When the deliveries are made, Santa comes out in person to do the job, and he is ferried around not on a sleigh, but in police vehicles or on a fire engine. A printer can design and produce Holiday Cards with a cheery message that can be included with each delivery. Last year alone, almost 400 children were given a gift through the efforts of those involved.
Those who would like to lend a hand to the toy drive are invited to drop off a gift or gift card at any Rancho Adobe fire station before December 25. Along with the gifts, food that has been provided by the Neighbors Organized Against Hunger food bank will also be distributed to anyone who might need it during the holidays.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards
