Rohnert Park area workshop will share chowder-making secrets

Chowder is a popular seafood soup, and Rohnert Park residents who would like to add a recipe for this dish to their cooking repertoire will soon be able to do so, right from digging the clams, to bringing it to the table.

The workshop will teach those who sign up how they can make their very own clam chowder and also how they can tweak the recipe to season it to their own taste. The class will be taught in interactive style, and all the students will be involved in creating the soup.

If the weather and tides allow for it, the class will even head out to Tomales Bay to dig the clams, so they are reminded to let the organizers know if they are interested in doing so and also to come dressed for a clam digging excursion. Students are also welcome to bring along a bottle of wine or another beverage to enjoy while they work.

Each of the participants in the event will be able to take home some of the chowder with them to share with their friends and family. A printing services provider will be able to provide recipe cards and other items for an event like this.

This seafood celebration will be taking place at Twisted Horn Ranch, which is located at 11399 Valley Ford Road in Bloomfield. It is open to anyone who is interested.
