The Sonoma County Fair’s 79th celebration begins today. Locals in and around Rohnert Park can enjoy rides, food, and live entertainment.
The fair features a huge carnival with more than 50 rides, including water rides, roller coasters, and a Ferris wheel. There is also a special kiddies’ area for younger children.
Other attractions include the barnyard, where attendees can see chicks hatch or bottle-feed a goat. Guests can also check out the animal races, juggling or magician acts, or taste some of the food at the fair. A poster printing service has likely been asked to make large Signs to direct people to various attractions and events.
Up until yesterday, pre-sale tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for kids between the ages of 7 and 12. Children 6 and younger were free. Carnival ride tickets cost $1 each. There are also season passes, carnival packs, and value packages for purchase. Seniors can get in free of charge on Thursdays and all kids are free on Fridays.
For an additional cost, guests can purchase tickets for the destruction derby, a rodeo, a monster truck show, or a wide array of concerts.
The fair will take place from today until August 9, except it is closed on Mondays. The gates are open from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and the carnival stays open until 11:00 pm.
