Residents make a pointe of seeing story ballet

Locals in Rohnert Park can enjoy a full length ballet performance at a performing arts center.

The ‘Holiday Gift’ is a family-friendly story ballet that is set in Paris. The show will feature classically trained ballet dancers, dancing penguins, magic dolls, and many more surprises. Martha O-Brien choreographed the ballet, and Ikolo Griffin will direct it. Guests can also enjoy the French gift boutique and refreshments.

The opening night of the ballet will feature a ‘black tie optional’ gala with small bites, wine, and a Paris theme.

Tickets cost $40 for the gala affair. General admission for the second day of performances costs $27, or $22 for seniors aged 65 and over and children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the box office on Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 5:00 pm, and also one hour before performances. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the box office at (707) 588-3400.

The Gala Premiere will take place on November 13, beginning with the preshow celebration at 6:00 pm. The ballet performance will begin at 7:00 pm. Printing companies have likely been asked to prepare Posters and playbills for the performances.

Ballet performances will also take place on November 14 at 1:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

The events will be held at the O’Brien Center of the Arts, located at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center on 5409 Snyder Lane. Parking is free.
