Locals enjoy lavender and wine

Wine lovers in and around Rohnert Park are in for a treat in about a month’s time.

The 19th Annual Days of Wine and Lavender event invites ticket holders, who are at least 21 years old, to the Matanzas Creek Winery for a day of wine, relaxation, and education.

Along with tasting a wide variety of wines, guests can enjoy the sights and smells of more than three acres of blooming lavender fields. Special food featuring lavender and wine pairings will be offered. There will also be music, games, cooking demonstrations, massages, and educational wine seminars.

Guests can take a tour of the Lavender Barn, a vineyard tour, or walk through the lavender gardens. There will also be a chance to check out work from local artists. Finally, attendees will be some of the first to try a newly released Matanzas Creek wine.

Tickets cost $90 for wine club members and $110 for the general public. No doubt Stationery printers were asked to Print out Menus to showcase the food and wine pairings. Fancy metallic fonts can give a menu an air of sophistication.

It all takes place on June 27 from noon until 4:00 pm. The winery will open its gates at 11:30 am for parking. Matanzas Creek Winery is located on 6097 Bennett Valley Road.

Guests are urged to wear casual summer clothing. For more information, call Galen McCorkle at 800-590-6464.
