The bill plans to change California’s meal reimbursement program so that all children schooling in the state can get free lunch and breakfast. The state would be required to fund up to two meals per day at daycare and preschool facilities while at family daycare homes all meals will be reimbursed. This is a big boost for families in California cities such as Rohnert Park. Logo designs tend to feature prominently on school lunch Boxes.
The existing rules cap the reimbursements at 75% of the cost of meals. Senator Becker’s office stated that the remaining balance is close to $34 million every year. Becker commented to say:
“California’s youngest children cannot be left out of our state’s groundbreaking meals policy to tackle food insecurity among learners. SB 1481 would ensure that all families can send their kids to child care centers offering free, nutritious meals.”
The program is set to be implemented in 2023. It was co-authored by 13 people from the Senate and from the State assembly. The bill also has support from the Child and Adult Care food Program Roundtable. The organization’s director, Samantha Marshall, feels that the bill necessary step forward towards equal opportunity for all.Get a Free Quote for Boxes
