Favorite festival scheduled near Rohnert Park

As the weather starts to cool slightly, one of everyone’s favorite events starts to show up all over the world—Oktoberfest.

Flagship Taproom in Cotati is the venue for this year’s Oktoberfest, and will offer games, contests, live music, pretzels, brats, and boots and liters of German beer. The practice of drinking beer from a boot began in the early 1800s in England, and the boots were real riding boots. The practice did not continue long in the UK, but spread to Germany in the mid-1800s, where it caught on immediately, especially with the military. Today, although drinking beer from a boot continues, the boots are made of glass.

Tickets for the event are $35, which includes admission, a one-liter mug for attendees to take home, and four tokens. One token will purchase a half-liter of beer, and two will buy a full liter. Pretzels and bratwursts are one token each, and there will be live music as well. The Voo Doo Vultures and Salty DeVito are set to appear, with one additional band to be announced.

Oktoberfest is set for September 18 from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. The Flagship Taproom is at 8099 La Plaza, #B in Cotati. Attendees will be able to purchase event T-Shirts at the Oktoberfest. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create colorful Flyers to advertise the fun.
