A redistricting workshop the Council requested its staff to put together prior to the next redistricting public hearing in Rohnert Park has been scheduled.
Plans for the workshop were shared with the Council at one of its meetings in early November by the Community Services Director Cindy Bagley. The event will offer Rohnert Park citizens a chance to have their opinions heard and help “Reshape Your Voting Voice”.
The event, dubbed “Coffee Beans and District Dreams”, will be free and childcare during the event will be free as well for children 3 to 11. Adults will be served beverages and pastries and children will receive donuts and hot cocoa. Activities for the children will include holiday arts and crafts.
Promoting some events is best handled with the help of a flyer printing service while Posters or Banners are more effective for others.
The workshop will take place at Rohnert Park Community Center on Snyder Lane at 10:00 am on December 4. The next public hearing is scheduled for January 11, 2022.
A raffle will be held for those attending, each of whom will receive a ticket for taking part in a variety of activities. Among the prizes given out will be a discount on a city recreation program; a Sports and Fitness Center one-year membership; tickets to Matilda, a Spreckels production; and a week of summer camp for free.
Although pre-registration is not required, it is encouraged and will earn the attendee an extra raffle ticket.
