Later this month, Redding residents will have a chance to support the Shasta County Arts Council. The Old City Hall Players will be presenting an Actors Show Case.
Nine local performers will present their craft during an evening of entertainment. Parents are advised to leave their kids at home as some language and themes may not be suitable for a younger audience.
Local talent will include Kathryn Kirk, Susan Daugherty, Bob Koroluck, Lisa Collins, Samantha Fork, Christopher Glavan, Malorie Glavan, and John Welsh. Russell Piette, another of the performers, has told the local press to expect something different. Programs for the evening will come courtesy of the printing services of local establishments.
Old City Hall Players is a group of local writers and actors who produce and perform original work. Old City Hall gives local writers and actors a venue in which to showcase their talents and to present new material. The organization sponsors three or four performances each year—three will highlight local writers while the fourth will feature a mainstream production. The shows are meant to raise community awareness of avant-garde and good dramatic theater.
The showcase will be held Saturday, August 23, at 8:00 pm, at Old City Hall, 1313 Market St., Redding. Seating will be limited—program organizers suggest attendees arrive early. Tickets will be $10 at the door.
