Redding residents get treated to Fair

Many here in Redding will be heading to the 137th Shasta District Fair coming in mid-June.

Livestock competitions and exhibits will feature 4-H and FFA youth exhibiting swine, goats, sheep and cattle, and livestock auctions in the Barns. Local artists and makers will be showcasing handmade crafts, fine arts, baked and homemade goods and photography in Lesson Hall.

A full carnival and midway will feature rides, games, classic fair food, and souvenir booths. Entertainment will be concerts, stage shows and community showcases performed by local talent.

Opening day will be Kids' Day, Thursday will be Senior Day, Friday will be Cattlemen's Day (including a rodeo) Saturday will be Veterans Day and Sunday will be First Responders Day.

Rodeos often get poster printing done weeks in advance to have Posters placed around town.

Regular admission will be $12 for adults, $8 for kids between the ages of six and twelve, military and seniors $9 and children 5 years old and under will get free. Carnival wristbands will be $32.

Shasta Hall will have a marketplace; Fusaro Hall will offer learning interactive activities and a book nook, and Trinity Hall will have a Battlefield Blitz, Drift Trykes, Extreme Escape Rooms and Axe Throwing.

The fair will be at the Shasta District Fair and Event Center, Anderson, June 17th to the 21st. Hours will be noon to 11:00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday.
