Redding’s Cascade Theatre is hosting a performance by Boz Scaggs this September.
Known as much for his solo work as he is for being associated with some of rock’s biggest ensembles, Boz Scaggs has been active in the music world since the early 1960s.
He began his career as a bandmate in both the Steve Miller Band and The Ardells, before branching off into doing solo work in 1969.
He produced a string of hit singles in the 1970s, including “Breakdown Dead Ahead,” “Lowdown,” “Jojo,” and “Lido Shuffle.” That decade also saw Scaggs release the back-to-back platinum-selling albums, Down Two Then Left and Middle Man.
In 1976, during the recording of his album Silk Degrees, Scaggs planted the seed for what would later become the band Toto, when he united musicians Jeff Porcaro, David Paich and David Hungate. The trio had previously collaborated on the Steely Dan album Pretzel Logic. When the three bandmates toured with Scaggs, that was the genesis for Toto’s creation.
Scaggs remains active as an artist to this day, releasing the album Out of the Blues in 2018. Concerts like this may choose to use flyer printing to create set lists, promotions and vendor Signs.
