Redding heads to Doggie Dash

Many Redding dogs and their owners will be participating in this year's Haven Humane Society Doggie Dash: 5k Fun Run and Community Fair coming at the end of March.

Prizes will be passed out to the runner and pet wearing the Funniest Costume, Best Duo, and Best Overall Costume.

From 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, the run's venue will also encompass a Community Fair where food and merchandise vendors will be selling dog-type wares and food. Pups will receive Doggie Pawprints and pup cups, while families will be taking part in activities. Other perks will include music, food and a photo booth.

People who wear costumes and bring their pooches all dressed up to events like this often take their event booth photos to local Print shops to be added to family newsletters and Calendars.

Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for youth, and groups up to 4 members can register for $85. Children under 8 will not need tickets. On event day, prices will increase $10. Swag will include Doggie Dash white T-Shirts sporting the Doggie Dash graphic design - a dog running in turquoise racing attire.

Race day registration will begin at 9:00 am and end at 9:45 am. The race will begin at 10:00 am.

The out-and-back course will begin at the Lake Redding Park Gazebo and will turn around at Sundial Bridge.

The fair and race will begin at the Lake Redding Park Gazebo and Pavilion, 56 Quartz Hill Road, March 28th.
