Dance and classical music enthusiasts will need to choose between two ballet options as two of the most renown ballets, one will be the ballet itself and the other will be the music suite, will be performed in Redding on the same evening in mid-November.
For its season opener, The North State Symphony will be presenting Swan Lake. Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite will be the finale of the evening with Britten, Mozart, Puccini, and Strauss Jr. pieces coming before.
Performers will include Young Artist winners – pianist Allie Braito, and soprano Amanda Michelle Britt, MTAC Youth Orchestra’s Director – Yoshi Muratani, and Shasta College Youth Strings Director - Jeff Specht.
The youth orchestra of Redding and Chico will perform Benjamin Britten’s Soirees musicales.
Swan Lake will take place November 11th at Cascade Theatre beginning at 7:30 pm.
To usher in the holiday season, the Redding Civic Center will be presenting Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet on the same evening.
The ballet will be classical European Ballet featuring Ukrainian Principal Artists, along with an international cast. The audience will be treated to amazing acrobatics, hand-crafted costumes, and sets, and larger-than- life puppets.

Seats run from $30 to $175. The Nutcracker performance will begin at 7:00 pm, and the Redding Auditorium is located at 700 Auditorium Drive.
