Run/walk events to raise funds in Redding

Partners in Care – an organization that offers cancer education, research, and financial assistance to Redding cancer patients – is presenting its annual Head and Neck Cancer – A Hard Thing to Swallow 5k and two-mile walk in mid-April.

In-person and virtual 5k and two-mile walk registrations are $30 and will go up to $35 after April 5. Swag includes finisher medals and white tri-blend T-Shirts sporting the event’s bright yellow starburst-style Logo Design.

Award pins will go to overall female and male finishers in the 5k, and along with medals to the top three female and male finishers in each of the 15 age categories.

Fundraising is highly encouraged. Those that opt to participate as Charity Runners will have their race registration refunded once they have raised $150 or more. These runners create their own URLs and fundraiser pages.

Teams are also encouraged and can be created on the event website. Many teams that get together periodically to participate in events such as this often get brightly colored T-Shirts made displaying the group’s company Logo Design, or might design their own wacky graphic design.

Virtual participants may submit their results manually, but this is not mandatory to run. Results must be turned in by May 1 to be included the website’s virtual results page.

The event will begin and end at Lake Redding Park, 2275 Benton Drive on April 16, starting at 9:00 am.
