Redding to hear African Childrens Choir

The African Children’s Choir will be having two performances here in town early next month. The choir is an off-shoot of the national Music for Life non-profit organization. This parent organization has educated over 52,000 children. No tickets are needed, but donations to support the organization’s programs will be welcome. Programs include care, relief, education and development.

The choir is composed of children from the seven countries that the parent organization helps. These include Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Kenya, the Sudan, South Africa and Ghana.

The program will be composed of traditional African children’s songs accompanied by ethnic instruments. There will be hand-clapping, contemporary tunes and traditional spirituals.
