Annual Redding Marathon Events will take place in mid-January.
The marathon, which is one of three events, will take runners on the Sacramento River Trail over Shasta Dam, across the Diestelhorst and Ribbon Suspension bridges and on to the finish line at Sundial Bridge.
Registration fees will be $80 until the end of the year and go up to $90 from January 1 to January 16. All runners will receive long-sleeve Q Zip tech shirts featuring the event’s graphic design.
This Boston qualifying race will begin at 8:00 am, at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive at Shasta Dam, and end at 3:00 pm.
The Redding Marathon Relay will also start at 8:00 am and follow the same course as the marathon. This three-person relay will cost $120 per team until December 31 when the fee will increase to $150. The first leg will cover 9.7 miles; the second leg will be 10.3 miles; and the last leg will be 6.2 miles. Participants in the relay will also receive tech shirts.
At 9:00 am, runners of all ages will line up at the marathon starting line to run the Sundial 5K. These runners can purchase tech shirts for $10 when they register. Fees will be $15 until December 31 and rise to $20 after. Kids 13 and under can fun for free, but the shirts will still cost $10 each.
