Many runners here in Redding will be participating in the Nail the Rail 5k, 10k and Half Marathon coming to our area in late April.
The route for all three races will be along the Sacramento Rail Trail that is an old, converted railroad track. The flat and fast trail will offer great views of Keswick Lake and the Sacramento River. The loop will begin and finish at the base of the Shasta Dam.
The half marathon will cost $77.32, the 10k will be $42.34 and the 5k will cost $31.74. The half marathon beginning at 8:00 am will end around noon, and the 10k and 5k will begin at 8:15 am ending at noon.
Participants in the half marathon will receive finisher medals and awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers and to the top overall racers.
Registration will be available at Redding Fleet Feet Store, 1376 Hilltop Drive from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, 24th April and on registration day beginning at 7:00 am at the Chappie Off-Highway Vehicle area.
Groups that participate in races and other activities like this often go to local Print shops and have the printers create a Logo Design and put the design on colorful team T-Shirts.
The Nail the Rail Half Marathon, 10k and 5k will take place on Saturday, April 26th at Shasta Lake, 16349 Shasta Lake.
