Redding opens holiday season

Redding will be ushering in the holiday season with a couple of events during November.

One will be the Turtle Bay Museum’s seventh annual Festival of Trees. This will be an upscale gala featuring a wonderland full of decorated trees, custom hors d’oeuvres from Market Street Steakhouse and the event’s special holiday cocktails. A bell choir will play festive seasonal music. Tickets will be $75 each and guests must be at least 21 years old. Cocktail attire is mandatory. Proceeds from the event will go to Mercy North’s Hospice program.

Turtle Bay Museum’s 2019 Festival of Trees will be November 16 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive.

Cascade Theatre, 1731 Market Street, will be starting its annual Cascade Christmas with opening night on November 29 at 7:00 pm. This annual holiday tradition will again feature the dance, music, singing, and illusion attendees have come to expect. This year, the theater will present Elf the Musical. Seven performances are scheduled from Friday November 29 to December 1, and December 6 to 8. Tickets run from $48 for balcony seats up to $601 for orchestra.

Everyone is encouraged to bring cameras and take free pictures with Santa after each matinee performance. Families that get pictures early enough in the season usually have time to take them to nearby Print shops to be made into Holiday Cards.
