Redding dog owners can exercise their furry friends, enjoy the outdoors, and help a local animal shelter, when they attend the Redding CA Doggie Dash 2024 coming in mid-March.
Hosted by Haven Humane Society, this will be Shasta County's only certified and dog-friendly run/walk fundraiser.
The Doggie Dash offers a 5k (3.1 mile) or a 10k (6.2 mile) run or walk. Participants can choose to go solo or bring their pups. Costumes are encouraged, and runners and walkers of all fitness levels and ages are invited. Prizes will go to fastest runners in each division, and awards will also be given for costumes and creativity.
Haven Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides adoption services care and shelter for local homeless animals. Dogs from the shelter will be on site hoping for someone to take them home.
Registration is $45 for the 10k and $30 for the 5k, and may be completed on the Active.com and Haven Humane Society's webpage. Participants may also register between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM on race day, although fees will go up $5. Event T-Shirts featuring this year's Logo Design will be available for $20.
Doggie Dash will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 16. The course will run along the tree-lined Sacramento River Trail and begin and end at the Sundial Bridge.
