Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center is once again presenting its annual Redding Garden of Lights.
Ten acres of Turtle Bay Exploration Park will be turned into winding paths of artfully illuminated displays, created using more than one million lights. Local wildlife and plant-themed exhibits will also be on display. Synchronized holiday music will add to the ambience. Gifts will be available for purchase, and fire pits will be warming for guests, as well as offering places for making s’mores. Food trucks will be selling holiday treats and beverages will also be available for purchase. Kids can enjoy Santa’s reindeer.
Adult tickets will be $22, while children’s tickets for kids from ages 5 to 15, seniors 65 and older, and military/veteran tickets will be $15. Kids under five can enter for free. Tickets must be purchased for specified days and half-hour timeslots beginning at 5:30 pm.
Patrons often take pictures as they walk across Sundial Bridge, along the lighted path and into the garden entrance and courtyard. These pictures may then be taken to local Stationery printers to become personalized Christmas cards.
The event will support the Turtle Bay Exploration Park for educational programs, museum exhibitions, garden care, and wildlife conservation.
Redding Garden of Lights has been open since November 18 and will continue until January 8, 2023. Turtle Bay Exploration Park is located at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive. The event is taking place rain or shine.
