Redding gourmets and gourmands will want to consider a couple of nights of fine dining here in town during May and June, supporting local organizations at the same time.
Vine and Dine for Parks will be an evening of dining pleasure with local chefs preparing gourmet specialties. Each food sample will be paired with an accompanying wine. Guests will be wandering around City Hall stopping at each chef’s station, bidding at the silent auction, and enjoying musical entertainment.
Chefs will be donating their time, and Redding’s Grocery Outlet is donating the food and wine. Proceeds will go toward the Redding Parks & Trails Foundation and to creating a new playground at Cumberland Park/Ridgeview Park.
Vine & Dine will take place Thursday, May 12th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Redding City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue. Tickets will be $40 online and $50 at the door.
Also, Taste of Redding will be an outdoor event in the City of Redding Sculpture Garden featuring local food, wine, live music on three stages, and craft beers. Proceeds will go to The Rotary Club of Redding West, which supports Redding community events, high schools and students, and improvement projects.
Tickets are $40 for food sampling, $50 for food and wine samplings, and $30 for youth tickets. Cities like to have pictures of events like these taken to local Print shops to be added to their tourist guides.
Taste of Redding will be Sunday, June 12 from noon until 4:00 pm.
