The Signarama Firecracker 5k will kick off the 4th of July with a 5k, Little Sparkler’s quarter-mile run/walk, and a pancake breakfast.
Festivities will begin with a timed 5k stroll, walk, or run, on a flag-lined course.
Swag will include T-Shirts featuring the race’s Limited Edition Commemorative graphic design, and medals for all participating Little Sparklers, groups, and those wearing patriotic outfits. Red, white, and blue race bibs that can be downloaded from the event’s website.
Registration for the 5k is $25 and includes the race and a pancake breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, hosted by Asphalt Cowboys. Registration for the Little Sparkler quarter-mile run is $10. Spectators may also purchase tickets for breakfast for $5.
The fun will begin at 8:00 am at Turtle Bay Exploration Park with an opening ceremony, with the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Starting at 6:00 pm, the City of Redding will present its annual free Freedom Festival. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from food trucks, and live music will begin at 7:00 pm.
The fireworks show will begin at 10:00 pm. Pyro Spectacular has produced over 1,700 shells for the event. Specified local radio stations will be playing a patriotic soundtrack for the show.
This year’s Freedom Festival will be at the Redding Civic Auditorium Grounds at 700 Auditorium Drive.
