The annual Redding Lighted Christmas Parade will be coming the first Saturday evening in December. As always, it will once again feature a host of lighted floats, marching bands and a variety others marching down the city streets.
The Redding Parade is unique in that every float (and every single participant) has lights on it, with no exceptions. This year’s theme will be ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas: Honoring our Men and Women in Uniform’. The parade will also feature just one “live” Santa, to avoid confusing to the children that attend. He will appear at the beginning and end of the parade.
The parade will feature several local marching bands playing only holiday music, along with a host of floats, most of which will have children on them. The trophy presentation for different categories of floats will be afterwards. Those planning to attend may want to bring their best camera for picture taking, leading to possible later use in making Holiday Cards.
A limited number of seats will be available along the parade route so everyone is advised get there early. Attendees are also urged to dress for the weather.
This year’s parade will take place rain or shine on Saturday, December 5, beginning at 6:00 pm here in Redding. It will be heading south on California then turning left onto Sacramento and continuing onto Pine Butte. Entry information and rules of conduct for both participants and viewers can be found on the parade’s web site.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards
