October brings zombie and sloth runs in Redding

Runners here in Redding can start October slowly with a “Sloth Run”, before ending it with a wild and whacky “Zombie Run”.

The Sloth Run 5k/10k/13.1 Mile Redding will have at least three waves of up to 15 runners each. The route will take participants through a scenic custom design route.

In-person registration for the 5k will be $39, for the 10k $42, and for the half marathon $45. Virtual runs are $35. Fundraising is optional. Swag will include blue or green premium running shirts sporting this year’s graphic design, and choice of custom mug or finisher’s medal. All fundraising and 10% of the net proceeds will go to The Sloth Conservation Foundation.

Sloth Run will be Saturday, October 7th on the Sacramento River Trail, beginning at 7:30 am.

Alternatively, those infected with the Halloween virus will have their own running chance with the 5k and 10k Zombie Run 2023. The run will begin and finish at Pathways to Hope for Children, 2280 Benton Drive. Registration will begin at 7:00am followed by the free kids crawl for little ones from zero to five years old at 8:30am. Both the 5k and the 10k will begin at 9:00am.

Adult registration will be $30 and includes race shirts, and youth registration for children from six years old to 17 will be $20. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as zombies or in other Halloween attire.

The Zombie Run will be October 21st from 7:00am to 11:00am.
