Those Redding non-athletes more interested in having fun than running will be heading for the Chris Hall’s Half K coming in mid-June.
The 0.31 miles or 1640 feet course will be an out-and-back with a refreshment station replete with freshly made mini donuts at the turn-around point. All participants receive first place medals and complimentary beer at the finish line. Other swag included in the $25 registration fee will include T-Shirts and car stickers sporting the event’s Logo Design.
Participants may opt for the newly added decathlon that will offer fun activity stations along the way. Vendors will be selling food items at the finish line, and ‘80s music and drinks will be available after the runs.
Charities supported by this event will be United Shasta, Shasta Lake Kiwanis, Pathways to Hope for Children, One Safe Place, and Shasta Youth Options.
If this event seems too strenuous, there will be a Virtual Participant option available for $32 where the “participants” can donate and run/walk their own 1,640 feet and not be present, or choose to not run at all. Swag will be sent.
Check-in will start at 10:00 am followed by the race at 11:00 am. The decathlon begins at 11:30 am along with the Lightning Cornhole tournament. A vacation getaway will be awarded at noon and the closing ceremonies will take place at 1:30 pm.
The Chris Hall Half K will be June 18 at the Lake Redding Pavilion, 56 Quartz Hill.
