For an evening of theater and fine dining, Redding patrons of the arts can enjoy an upcoming classic play with the eight-time Oscar winning Alan Menken show, ‘Sister Act’. The performance will be preceded by three-course meal.
Film fans will be familiar with Whoopi Goldberg’s portrayal of Deloris Van Cartier, the wannabe diva whose life is changed when she witnesses a crime and has to hide out as a “nun” in the local convent.
The stage role will be played by Kerissa Arrington, who is making her debut with the national tour of the musical. Other memorable characters are Mother Superior (played by Maggie Clennon Reberg) who must keep a suspicious eye on the unusual proselyte and the nuns who find their voices under the new recruit’s tutelage. The poster printing for this farce has turned out some iconic images.
Tickets for the pre-show dinner with the cast members are now available. The menu for the three-course meal will feature a choice of entrees, such as salmon, lamb, and New York Strip Steak. Available cast members and the auditorium’s General Manager, Cory McCandliss, will be holding a question and answer session afterward.
The Pre-show VIP dinner will begins at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, March 25. The performance will begin at 7:00 pm on the main stage of the Redding Civic Auditorium, 700 Auditorium Drive, Redding.
