Fans of the popular reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ may want to watch and take part in a local version called ‘Dancing with the Stars Shasta County Style’.
The contest will be like the TV show, except the “celebrities” will be local folks. Audience members will get to vote and money earned at the show will go to local charity One SAFE Place, an organization that provides services to people in crisis.
The show will feature six local community members brave enough to compete in front of a live audience, each paired with a professional dancer. The contestant couples will be Jennifer Campbell and Mark Rhodes, Jason Dell and Timmie Howard, Amber Hawk and Nathan Myers, Tory Meredith and Monica Fisher, Matt Morgan and LisaMarie Woody, and Melissa Ross and Jordan Stevens.
The event makes money for charity by using dollars donated as votes, with one dollar being one vote for a particular couple. After the voting has ended, one couple will be crowned ‘The People’s Champion’. Those who wish to do so can double their voting power by becoming a monthly donor to One SAFE Place. Attendees may wish to exchange digital Business Cards.
