Many local car enthusiasts will be flocking to this year's Kool April Nites coming towards the end of April.
Some highlights include Drive-in Moving Night showing Herbie "The Love Bug" from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Redding Civic Auditorium, 700 Auditorium Drive.
Thousands of spectators are expected to line Redding streets to watch classic vehicles cruising along the route through the Hilltop Drive/Chum Road Area. This iconic event will be the Kool Nites Cruise taking place Friday, April 26 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Back at Redding Civic Auditorium on Saturday, April 27, hundreds of muscle cars, hot rods, and classics made before 1980 will be on display competing for awards at the Big Show and Shine 2024. From 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, attendees may view the vehicles and talk to the owners, then vote for their favorite cars.
That morning and on the Sunday after, the auditorium will hold an Asphalt Cowboys Pancake Breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
A Car Corral will wrap up the event on Sunday, April 28 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the auditorium. Here, classic cars will be available for purchase.
Both food and merchandise vendors will be part of the activities at the auditorium. Usually, some vendors at events like this will sell T-Shirts sporting the event's graphic design.
Kool April Nites will take place April 19 to 28.
